Training and Assessment Course

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course offered by the College is suitable for people who deliver training and conduct competency-based assessment.


Delivery Method
The College offers the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment via distance delivery. You study at your own pace with distance delivery however, the timetable is scheduled over 12 months and a maximum timeframe of 18 months applies to ensure currency of skills. You can enrol at any time.

Entry Requirements
The following lists the requirements for enrolling in the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification offered by the College

  • Internet Access
  • Suitable Training Environment
  • Above Average Communication Skills
  • Above Average English Skills
Please note, in order to complete this qualification, you will need to submit a number of activities recorded on video or DVD, so you will also require access to a video camera. The College has a limited number of video cameras available for hire.

Minimum Requirements
Because the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is significantly more in depth than the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, the Training and Assessment Training Package has minimum requirements for all assessment activities. Look at the Minimum Requirements document for a detailed list of these requirements.

Bridging Course
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Bridging Course is also available at the College. This program is for students who have successfully completed the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (BSZ40198) qualification, as they may be entitled to receive exemptions from some modules subject to proof of currency of skills. Currency can be proved either by RPL or by completion of the College's set of Currency Tasks.

Please note, that RPL fees are listed on our Fee Schedule and apply for RPL applications for units not covered by the bridging course.
